BCS Talk: Manx Telecom Next Generation Network

If you’re on the Isle of Man, the BCS is organising a talk tomorrow about the new Next-Generation Network currently being rolled out across the Island by Manx Telecom. Here’s a bit more about it.

The network will be one of the first fully converged ALL-IP networks in the world. It will be able to offer real converged services and will replace the complete circuit switched network that is in use today. As well as replacing the fixed line network, this network will also replace the traditional backhaul network for Manx Telecom’s 2G and 3G network.

This project will dramatically reduce long term capital and operational expenditure and as it will have Alcatel-Lucent’s IMS solution at its core; it will also provide a flexible and cost effective platform for the delivery of new and exciting end user services.

The event is at The Claremont Hotel, 6:00 for 6:30 (20th March 2008). See you there.
