WordPress v2.7 will be awesome

I just came across a video recorded by Allen Stern which shows Matt Mullenweg (one of the co-founders of WordPress) showing off some of the new features in WordPress 2.7 (due in around a month). Here’s the video:

There’s quite a bit of excitement about in the WordPress ecosphere, and there’s little doubt that lessons have been learnt and this release will be just great. If you want to get a feel of what it will be like, here are the WordPress 2.7 wireframes. You can also get a first look at the new version of WordPress here.

  1. I know they are making it easier to comment from the admin interface, which is great, but I hope they automate a task that I try to do (and tried to write a plugin for without success) which is to append my comment to the original comment, and then email that appended comment to the original poster. I prefer doing that so I don’t have thousands of my own comments. Or maybe someone knows of a current plugin that does that?

  2. Hmmm. Looks like there’s some powerful tools to enable us bloggers to reach even more people more effectively.

I agree with Peter …I don’t know of a plug-in to make that process easier yet.

  3. I really hope this is all it’s supposed to be. I’m still on 2.3.3 since 2.5 was such a disaster….now I have to upgrade soon due to mass plugin incompatibilities coming out.
