Carlo pointed me at a great online service called Mailinator. Mailinator calls itself an anti-spam system in that it allows you to receive email at a temporary mailbox and once you have obtained what you need; you never need use that mailbox again. It’s easy to use, there’s no sign-up and just what you need when signing up for those pesky websites that insist on sending you a verification email before letting you access any service they provide.
