Spread betting is all about gambling on whether the price of a share will go up or down. Well, you could call it gambling, though it’s really based on whether you think the value of a company share will rise or fall. You basically pick a price, say £10 per point means you’re betting £10 for every penny change in the price of the share. You can bet whether the price goes up or down and that’s it.
