Our first Service goes public

The project I’m working on has finally announced to the world what we’re up to. I’m involved in a project tasked with deliving eGovernment services here in the Isle of Man. It’s all interesting stuff; both in terms of the range of technologies we have to work with, and also the challenges in working with different groups of
people to devise a set of uniform service offerings that can address each group’s priorities and needs.

The first service we have launched is for local farmers to register cattle deaths and births and to enquire on their movements. This is a small scale launch which allows us to test the usability, functionality and scaling features of the technology we are using. Our next releases will involve tax and VAT functionality for businesses, which will no doubt elevate the requirements and profile of what we’re doing.
