Microsoft Anti-Spyware

Had a play with Microsoft’s
AntiSpyware
offering. It’s still in Beta, but it’s essentially just a rebadging
of Giant’s offering; so even at this stage,
it’s a very slick product. I was particularly impressed by its treatment of the threats
it found. Besides giving details on each threat; including a description of the companies/individuals
behind the code; it actually gives some real advice on how to deal with each one.
And it’s recommendations matched exactly what I would do, deleting web bugs, but reporting;
however ignoring registry entries for eDonkey which
I wouldn’t have deleted. Looks like I won’t be using Ad-aware for much longer.
