ProBlogger launches PayPerTweet

Looks like ProBlogger is hopping onto the ever-growing market where common users get paid for generating social media content on the behalf of commercial organisations, with their new PayPerTweet service. Here’s the blurb from their site:

With millions now using Twitter on a daily basis it’s only natural that companies and individuals would wish to have a presence on Twitter. We’re already seeing companies start their own Twitter accounts but increasingly we’ve been approaches by companies and individuals looking to be mentioned in Twitter streams in return for compensation.

Along side this an increasing number of Twitter users have become frustrated that despite having accumulated tens of thousands of followers on Twitter that they’ve so far had little success at monetizing their ‘followership’.

I for one, can’t wait to hear from mortgage lenders all around the world as to how much money they could save me on my mortgage! Seriously, I would guess that ProBlogger is based in Australia … as it’s not the April Fool’s Day here in the UK yet. But it’s really only a matter of time before someone comes up with a good way to monetise Twitter.
