Stuart just sent me a link to a KB article that describes how to get SSO working with Windows XP SP2 RC2. Turns out that SP2 makes RPC a lot more secure and this stops you installing SSO and kills any running SSO instance. The article describes some policy and registry changes which open up RPC enough to allow SSO to work. Thanks Stuart, this might save me some time in the future!
