I went on a visit of the Astronomical Observatory here in the Isle of Man. The Isle of Man Astronomical Society have an observatory out near Foxdale and they organised a visit for the Douglas Round Table to go and take a look.
We had a talk about the history of the observatory and the astronomical society here in the Isle of Man, then had a tour of the observatory and got to see their telescope up close. Unfortunately the weather was against us, so we didn’t get to look through the telescope. Maybe next time.
Much recommended if you have a free evening. They meet on the first Thursday of each month.
