Not only is the production version of .Net 3.0 available for download, but Microsoft
has also pushed Windows Vista out to the world, and Office 2007 has also gone final.
Looks like Christmas has come early this year.
As a technologist I love playing with new stuff, but the reality is that these new
releases promise a whole host of new work to IT departments around the globe. A new
OS release is usually followed by industry pressure to move to the new platform, which
means retesting a whole host of applications and re-training operational staff how
to support the new products and applications. Still, technology has been getting progressively
easier to use, so hopefully this helps us enable technology teams meet the requirements
businesses place on them every day.
