Is that original?

Ever read something and wonder where you’ve read it before? Well, if could be a classic example of plagiarism, where someone copies someone else’s work and takes credit for it. In fact, there’s a good website you can use to check whether something is original work or not. It specialises in plagiarism checking and is a useful resource for anyone involved in writing assignments, case studies or reports, or even anyone responsible for correcting that work. Unfortunately with the pervasiveness of the Web, it’s fairly easy for someone to research a subject, then just cut and paste sections of it and try to take credit. It turns out that this is not only unethical, but even illegal, and you can get into hot water if you’re caught doing this.
