I was playing with the video display in the our board room a couple of weeks back and noticed that it doubles up as a video conferencing display. It’s actually pretty awesome as the camera easily captures the whole room and it’s part of the IP network the runs through the whole organisation. I haven’t had a chance to actually make use of it, but I might invent an excuse to try it out one of these days.
Web conferencing is one of those technologies that is set to grow in the near future. As people become more and more conscious of their carbon footprint and usage of resources, they will be making choices to help them use less energy and spend less time traveling. Web conferencing gives you an option to avoid traveling from one end of the world to another. It doesn’t matter if you’re a salesperson, a director or someone just trying to reach out to someone else, web conferencing could really make a difference to the way you interact with others. And, in the long run, it can really make a difference and save you time, money and lots of aggravation (have you been through airport security recently)?
