What do British Airways, General Motors, Apple, Bell Labs and Oracle have in common? Well, they’re some of the clients of The Forte Institute, and what an impressive list of clients that is. The Forte Institute is a company that specialises in Executive Coaching and have their own methodology which helps them attain great results. Their methodology is called Forté which is a French word meaning “one’s strengths”.
So, how does it work? Well it claims to be an interpersonal communication system that identifies a person’s natural communication style preferences and strengths, how they have been adapting to a specific individual and/or environment, and how they are most likely coming across to others. These communication style preferences are split into primary, secondary and 2 further sub-strengths. These factors are then combined with various perceiver styles to highlight how the subject comes across and identify strengths and weaknesses in the person’s profile.
Forté also identifies an individual’s current logic style, current stamina level, and current feelings about goal attainment. This can be pretty valuable in helping key individuals maximise their performance and give their best to their organisation. I must say, I could do with an executive coach at the moment, to help me through my Strategic Planning exam next Monday!
These days coaching at the executive and the manager level has become a prerequisite to enable effective communication and determine where the organization is and where it is headed
Coaching can facilitate productive change in persons, teams, and systems by enabling leaders, managers, and employees to uncover potential that might otherwise go untapped
