One really interesting thing about moving to the UK is that Mother’s Day here is on a totally different day to what I was used to in Malta. In fact Mother’s Day here is in March and is also called Mothering Sunday. Back in Malta, Mother’s day is in May so it feels really weird to have to keep track of two different days. The nice thing is that nowadays it’s pretty easy to sort out flower delivery for Mom as this is a great way to show her that you’re thinking of her.
So if Mother’s Day is coming up for you, just get some flowers.
It’s funny for me to think about Mother’s Day outside the US, but of course it exists. What was I thinking? 🙂 Here, it was “invented” by a person in West Virginia and adopted by the government.
Mother’s Day here in Canada is next weekend (May 13th to be exact). Usually a day filled with greenhouse shopping is my preferred way to spend the day with the family, but it’s still cold and rainy here. No use picking up bedding plants and flowers if nothing can be planted for awhile. It’s been a weird Spring for weather!
I’ve been working on an online way to send Mother’s Day gifts. It’s called a prezzle and you can send a Spa package or other gift certificates. You also can specify the date that it can be opened. If they open it early, the online package explodes. Check it out http://www.prezzle.com/?ref=techguy
