Some of you may not know this about me, but when I was at University I spent 9 months on a student exchange in Australia. This was back in the days where the Internet was mainly used for email and Mosaic was all the rage. I remember those days fondly, but I also remember how hard it was to find information about how the exchange worked, what university options were available and all about accommodation in Australia.
The Internet has made things much easier now and you can even find Study Abroad Forums for Education Agents, International Students and Schools where students and schools can exchange information, views an ideas. The forum I just mentioned has 3 main aims:
- To help students meet other students and exchange feedback on schools and university. It also allows them to get in touch with education agents to help them get a better placement
- To help schools get in touch with students and post information about themselves to an active forum
- To help education agents get in touch with both schools and students
It’s great to see a market develop in this way. I wish all this was around 10 years ago when I was trying to find my way to Australia
