Here’s an interesting take on promoting a website. Programming
Forums are running a contest for their users with a total prize pot of over $1000
(mostly cash). You can read more about the contest here,
but essentially members get points for posting content to the forum or for promoting
the board. The more points you get, the closer to the top you go. Prizes are made
up of cash, hosting and design elements. Excellent idea for promotion I think.
The forums themselves are rather scant at the moment, but if their promotions succeeds
