The big news today is that Google
has bought YouTube for around 1 billion pounds. YouTube will still maintain it’s
brand, so there’s no chance it will be called GooTube.
Anyway, it looks like the market thinks this is a wise move, as Google
shares went up 2% as the news was announced. The question is, will Google still
offer Google Video, or will it roll the two
together into one service? Will Universal
Music finally sue YouTube, now that it has the financial backing to make legal
action worthwhile? What the future holds, only time will tell.
