Looks like Third Thursday is upon us once again! For those who have never come across it, it’s an opportunity for people interested in Social Media to get together, have a bite to eat and share thoughts and ideas about established and emerging Social Networking websites, capabilities and services.

It’s usually a pretty varied group around the table and conversations range from benefits and risks of Social Media, all the way to designing efficient algorithms for minifying Javascript. Yes, there are geeks among us, but there are also those who just want to learn more about Facebook, Twitter and Youtube and how they can be used in their daily or professional lives.

So please come and join us. It’s an open invitation, anyone can come and if you’re a regular try and bring along a friend too. This month will be slightly different as Glen from YourWebVideo will be hunting around for people’s opinions on the use of video online and we’ll get a chance to watch him in action. It’s bound to be fun!

As usual, we’ll be down at Paparazzi in Douglas at 12:30. There’s all the Wifi you can eat and we’ll grab some food while we’re there too. See you on the 19th!

Third Thursday is upon us again, and as you may know, it’s time for the Manx Social Media Club to meet up for lunch. It’s an open event which can be attended by anyone with an interest in Social Media. It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned professional, or whether you’re just starting to get to grips with the medium, this is an opportunity to come and share ideas, learn new things and meet your online friends in a real-life context.

Third Thursday this month has come a bit earlier than I expected (15th), but that means it’s time for us all to meet down at Paparazzi for some grub and a natter. Yes, it’s Social Media Club lunch this Thursday!

For those who have never been, it’s an opportunity to catch up with your online friends and socialise in a casual environment. We usually end up chatting about all things social media related, from new social networking sites, to the perennial gadget debates; from best practices in social media for wok purposes, all the way interesting links we’ve come across recently.

It’s an open event that anyone can attend. Just pop down to Paparazzi in Douglas at 12:30 and come find us sitting in the corner. I’ll be a bit late this month, but @ProgramX has kindly agreed to meet and greet. Hope to see you all there!

Some of us use Social Media in their work life, some in the personal life, but we all share a passion for the medium and have met and made friends with others online. Social Media Club lunch is an opportunity to meet up with people you’re met online, a place you can come and share ideas and find new things to learn.

So come and join us at Paparazzi on Thursday 19th May at 12:30. It’s an open event, anyone can come along and feel free to bring a friend too. The great thing about Paparazzi is that they can accommodate any number of people who come. Don’t worry if you don’t know anyone; we’re a friendly bunch.

It’s an open event for anyone interested in Facebook, Twitter, Quora and the multitude of social networks out there. You may use these at work, in your personal life or may just be curious about what they are and how they may affect you. If any of these apply to you, feel free to come and join us!

High on the agenda this month will be the final preparations for Twestival, a fund-raiser we’re holding next week to raise money for Wish Upon a Dream. But there will be other topics that may arise in the discussion. Whether you found out about the crisis in Japan on traditional media or over a social channel for example. Or whether you’ve managed to make it into Sherrilynne’s Top Tweeters. Or even how you could use Social Media to improve your network. There are bound to be lots of topics on the table.

So, if you’re a regular you know the details. But if you’ve never joined us, feel free to come along and meet some of the people you know online in real life. If you’re not into Twitter, Facebook or blogging, come along and learn all about it. The venue is Paparazzi in Douglas, we’ll be heading down at 12:30 for a bite and a chat!

It’s that time of the month again! Yes, Third Thursday is upon us and I’m looking forward to meeting all my Tweeps, Facebook Friends and Linked In Buddies for lunch in a couple of days day. For those of you who don’t know about it, the Isle of Man Social Media Club meets on the Third Thursday of every month, and is an excellent way to come and meet people you know online in a social real-world environment.

There are people from all walks of life, all with one thing in common: the use of Social Networking Websites. We have people using Social Media for work purposes, people just getting onto Facebook for the first time and people curious about Linked In. It’s an open format, everyone is invited, and I’m sure you’ll find new and old friends to chat and share ideas with. So, come and join us at Paparazzi in Douglas on Thursday 16th December at 12:30.
