I was playing with an interesting website this evening, one that gives you the facility to create your very own t-shirts, order as many as you want and even sell them online. I wasn’t really intending to create anything, but got drawn into how flexible the t-shirt printing facility was and just stopped there to have play more.

Here’s one interesting T-shirt that’s built with one of the stock images from the website. There are literally thousands of stock images you can use to create your T-shirt, and you can add text, your own images and as much flair as you like to the T-shirt, shorts or whatever garment you are creating.

The process starts with picking out a garment or item to print on. They have a selection of clothes, from hoodies to fitted T-shirts, and also other items like mugs, aprons and even underpants! Once you pick your item, you get a blank canvas to paint your creation on. I had a play with creating a mug for work. It would have cost me £8.99 for the mug and delivery, which really isn’t all that much for a personalised item.

One great option is to set up shop and sell your creations. The site will manage the whole process for you, from ordering to dispatch. All you have to do is create your items and wait for your cheque to appear at the end! Try it out, it’s great fun!

I was asked by my friends down at Fuel My Blog to review a site where you can create and sell your own clothing. The site is called Printed Wardrobe and to tell you the truth I’ve just spent the last couple of hours playing with their site!

Printed Wardrobe is a website that lets you create your own clothing. Once you have created your design, you can also allow their site to sell them online and earn 10% on every item sold. You can even turn their site into an online store for your design. They do all the hard work, printing the items and shipping them out and you just earn something for every item they sell. They have several items of clothing, but also supply a range of accessories, including iPad covers, phone covers, cushions and bags.

The user interface to create your own items is pretty good. You get upload your own photos or use a selection of clipart they have available. You can also add any text you like in any way you can possibly imagine. I spent quite some time putting together a hoodie I could have got for my wife (shown alongside), but didn’t actually buy it as I’m not sure she would like it. Coming to think of it, I don’t think I’d be up for walking around with photos of my family plastered all over my body, but hey, it was a great subject to see how their website works.

Besides making your own designs, you can also choose from designs that other people have created. I ended up buying this T-Shirt which I think would go down a treat for anyone with access to Facebook at work Purchasing a garment is also good fun. They have a selection of different clothing styles and you get to choose colours and sizes. With every choice, a preview of your item is generated so you can see exactly what you’re getting.

If you decide to go ahead and buy something, I even have a treat for you. If you use the following code: DESIGN20, you get a 20% discount on your purchase. The coupon is valid till the end of September 2011.

Right, I think I’m going back to playing with the site now. Thinking of making a T-shirt for our Social Media Club …

UPDATE: You can get your Social Media Club T-shirt here

There are literally millions of different ones about, which is great for someone who’s trying to express his or her individuality by wearing something “different”. Tonight, given a choice of T-Shirt, I’d be wearing the Family Guys T-shirt shown alongside, just because that’s the mood I’m in.

That shirt is from a websites that sells T shirts called Wear Your Beer. As you can imagine with a name like that, they sell T-shirts with your favourite beer brand on the front; but they also produce a whole range of other T-shirts, from Batman T shirts all the way to Spiderman T shirts (Spiderman, at the moment, being Arthur’s favourite comic book character). They also sell all sorts of other merchandise, from keyrings to shooter glasses; all with images of your favourite characters, TV shows and beer brands. All in the name of fun of course.

So if you’re looking for some way to show your preferences, shout a slogan or just chill, check out the website and pick out something that fits your personality. There’s a nice selection that can suit practically anyone. Just feel free to pick whatever you like.

What’s your favourite pick from the website?

It’s a T-shirt I bought a couple of days ago from Iffyton High Street.

If you’ve never been to Iffyton High Street, it’s a great concept in online shopping that mimics the experience you get in a realy shopping trip. You get to browse around a street full of shops containing different outlets each specialising in a particular type of product. My T-shirt came from one of the T-shirt stores there and says “Classically Trained” with a picture of a Nintendo NES in the center (get it?)

Here’s what the shopping experience looks like, just like walking through a High Street:

The idea translates very nicely into the ability to browse and purchase other types of items. The current shops seem to specialise mostly in clothing, from music T-shirts to regional T-shirts, though I didn’t see much in terms of kids clothing. But there’s a nice selection anyway, so you’re bound to find something you like.

Oh, and just a word of thanks to Kevin from FuelMyBlog who pointed them out to me.

Just got a Tweet from BenSpark who’re running a contest with some T-shirts to give away. I was singled out because I had commented on a previous competition of his because it was only open to people in the US. This one, however, is international, so everyone can participate.

The prizes are being put up by Ten Bills, a website that retails T-Shirts at a flat $10. The T-shirts all seems to have cool imagery, but if I had to pick my favourite I would go with “Push My Buttons“, a brilliant design by Budi Satria Kwan. The T-shirts are all very artisticly themed, and I’m sure will appeal to some of you out there, so don’t hesitate to enter the contest too; it’s free, it’s fun and you don’t need to be wearing any safety equipment to do it.

It’s actually quite nice to see something like this that isn’t restricted to a small part of the Internet. I do appreciate that sometimes there’s legislation that prevents things like this to happen internationally and there is a cost differential of allowing foreign competitors to enter, but I’d like to see barriers like this disappear over time, and companies and individuals tackling initiatives on a global scale; not just something they want to do in their own back yard.

Great work Drew!

I wore my new Izea T-shirt today, the one that Ted send me all the way from the US. It fits pretty nicely even though the size *should* be a bit small for me. (Good thing I lost some weight)

I must say, T-shirts are always a great way to advertise your business as people are usually quite happy to walk around with your advert on their back or chest. This one is particularly nice as it’s a bright colour and the logo is in an unusual place. And I’m happy enough with it to blog about it. How many of you can say you have an Izea T-shirt, huh?

Ok, I’m rambling now .. maybe it’s time for bed …
