I’ve been keeping an eye open for Noise Canceling Headphone, ones which actively block out ambient sound, which I hear are just the perfect thing to have when you’re traveling. Anyway, I was looking at the sale page on Buy.com and it turns out that they have a pair, just like what I’m after, for under $20.

It’s the Otto OT-5 Noise Canceling Travel Headset and it fits my requirements perfectly. They look great and I’m sure they sound great. Here are the features:

I must admit, I’m not traveling as much as I used to, but the noise on the plane used to drive me up the wall. Headphones like these are great for flying because noise like the constant drone of plane engines is an excellent candidate for noise cancellation. I hear this type of headphone is also great for canceling things like voices. Again this would be really useful for me, as I work in an open plan office. Sometimes you want to concentrate hard on something but all the sounds around you just tend to drown out your thoughts sometimes.

Unfortunately they don’t seem to ship to the UK, so the search continues. Unless, someone in the US wants to buy them for me for my birthday, it’s only 3 weeks away.
