Looks like Google’s datacentres are in the middle of another Page Rank update. Google does this from time to time to update it’s published values for Page Rank used by third party services (for example the Google Toolbar). Anyway, while the Google Dance is ongoing you can see some interesting results. Here’s what Google.com showed [...]
Grab an expired domain

Here’s a great idea for getting a great domain name. If you keep an eye on domains that have just expired, you might manage to get your hands on one that the owner has forgotten to renew. You’d be surprised how many domain names like this end up back in the pool for other people [...]
Optimising for the Long Tail

What is the Long Tail and why is it important for Search Engine Optimisation. Well, the term “Long Tail” was coined by Chris Anderson in Wired magazine and relates to the impact of focusing on niche strategies and how this is a viable competitive model. Paid Search is a lot like Dating

Just came across an excellent post that compares Paid Search to Dating and draw some interesting conclusions. It’s in a style similar to Digg and other social networking websites [...]
Always make sure your site is indexed
Posted by: Owen on Wednesday, 10th Jan, 2007
What’s the single most critical factor that determines whether your site will be successful or not? It has to be the fact that your site has to be indexed by the major search engines. If they don’t know about your site, then nobody will come knocking at your door. Last night I was working on [...]

Came across a good post on how to improve search engine traffic to your website. It breaks down what you need to do into three steps:
Make a List of Targeted Keyword Phrases
Create an Optimized Page for Each Keyword Phrase on Your List
Obtain Quality Backlinks to Each of Your Pages
The first two are [...]
