I’ve just published a WordPress plugin that I wrote a few months ago and never actually made available to the World. It’s called SponsorMe and lets you organise a fund raising campaign on your WordPress blog. Blog readers will be presented with a graph of the monies you have collected and an opportunity to sponsor [...]

I’ve just finished putting the finishing touches on a WordPress Widget that lets you add a list of EntreCard droppers to your website. If you’ve never used EntreCard before, it’s a great networking tool for bloggers, where you can drop your Card onto another bloggers blog to let them know you’ve visited. It’s great fun [...]

Theming WPAuctions

One of the great things about working with Hyder is that he’s a brilliant designer. I’m happy messing around with code and databases, and have no idea how to make front-ends look pretty, but he’s just star when it comes to CSS and graphic design. He’s added some great input into developing our WP Auctions [...]

Problem with Technorati Plugin for FireFox
Posted by: Owen on Tuesday, 3rd Apr, 2007
Well, my Firefox Plugin for Technorati was working nicely, but all of a sudden it seems to have died. After a bit of research I found out that API calls are limited to 500 a day, and I thought I might have overrun this. However, when I tried checking the status of my API key, [...]

The RandomLinkButton plugin has been upgraded to version 0.5. The new version has fully working category selection now, together with the option to specify that target for the new page to open in.
The other change in the plugin is that I’ve moved all the data access to use WordPress functionality supplied by the framework. This [...]

Posted by: Owen on Thursday, 1st Feb, 2007
A friend of mine was looking for a plugin for WordPress that presents the user with a button that leads them to a random website. He couldn’t find anything, so I decided to write a plugin that does this for him.
And here it is:
The Random Link button plugin give you the ability to place a [...]
WordPress 2.1 breaks Link Library
Posted by: Owen on Tuesday, 23rd Jan, 2007
Installing WordPress 2.1 worked fine in most cases, however it has broken one of the plugins I use on the site. The plugin is called Link Library and makes use of a depracated function called $wpdb->linkcategories. Actually it’s a depractated table in the database. WordPress 2.1 uses the same category table for links and posts. [...]
Feedburner feed adjusted
Posted by: Owen on Sunday, 7th Jan, 2007
Now that the new blog is up and running, I’ve adjusted the RSS feed to be identical to the old blog. The only way I could have managed to do this is because I’m using the most excellent FeedBurner to serve my feeds. FeedBurner is a website that contains an excellent collection of tools for [...]
