Have you ever taken part in a web conference? I’ve been wanted to try it out at work ever since I started watching Marketing Pilgrim’s Live Streaming Webcast. So, in the meantime I’ve been looking around at different providers to try and find one I can use.
Running a web conference can be an excellent idea to get a number of people together in the same room (virtually of course). It means that people don’t have to travel to take part in a meeting, that they can contribute to a discussion from the comfort of their homes or local offices. And it also means you don’t need dedicated teleconferencing equipment to make it work. All you need is a webcam, speakers and a microphone, which most computers tend to have built-in nowadays anyway.
One company I was looking at is called The Conference Depot. They offer a varied portfolio, including products to set up web conferencing or web seminars. They also provide audio conferencing and managed events, in fact, they offer a complete suite for remote meeting capabilities. I might end up looking for someone more local, but it was interesting seeing what one particular company offers.
It’s interesting how the breadth of technology available today gives businesses and individuals so many options they can deploy to perform their daily jobs. What technologies do you use in your daily job?
