I came across a Donate car website today. The premise is quite simple. Instead of throwing away a broken car, selling a heap of junk or just abandoning it somewhere, this company will take your car, recycle it and donate the proceeds to charity. They are a registered charity and will even generate the right paperwork so you can claim tax back on your donation.
I must say that it’s a novel idea that I haven’t seen anywhere else. I’m sure there’s money to be made in the recycling business, but this company ha an edge, in that it adds the feel-good factor that at least some of your cash is going to a good cause. The website doesn’t say much as to what sort of value to expect for your vehicle, but something is always better than nothing. If you have a car you’re thinking of disposing of, check them out
