Windows Vista Activation Keys

Great post on Mark Wilson’s blog about how Windows Activation works on Vista. There are two types of keys: Multiple Activation Keys (MAKs) which are valid for a defined number of installations and Volume Licence Keys (VLK) where a client runs his own Key Management Server and “leases out” keys on a 6 monthly cycles. Extremely interesting. Thanks Mark for clearing that one up!
