Well, the weekend is here; and I’ve just found a bunch of geeky stuff that I’m not going to have time to play with 🙂 .. Well, maybe I’ll manage to find some time to play. Here’s what I came across:
- XBMC 12.0 Frodo Beta 1– some fantastic stuff on this media player. XBMC 12 figures to be one of the most anticipated feature updates in a long time. Features include…
- HD audio support, including DTS-MA and Dolby True-HD, via the new XBMC AudioEngine
- Live TV and PVR support
- h.264 10bit (aka Hi10P) video software decoding for anime
- 64bit support in OSX to match the 64bit support in Linux
- Improved image support, allowing the database to accomodate numerous additional image types
- Support for the Raspberry PI
- Initial support for the Android platform
- Improved Airplay support across all platforms
- Advanced Filtering in the library
- Advanced UPnP sharing
- Ubuntu for Android – Now multi-core Android phones can be PCs too. Ubuntu for Android enables high-end Android handsets to run Ubuntu, the world’s favourite free PC desktop operating system. So users get the Android they know on the move, but when they connect their phone to a monitor, mouse and keyboard, it becomes a PC. Exciting!
- Raspberry Pi-based Gaming Console – Title says it all! Hardcore!!
So, which project shall we pick first 🙂
