Just when you thought Facebook has taken over the world, in comes another social network to steal it’s thunder. I signed up with Pownce today and here’s my Pownce page. I haven’t really given it a chance yet, but it seems much more limited that anything Facebook brings to the table. But then, the power in a social network is not in it’s capabilities, but in the people who constitute it, so I’m keeping an eye on it to see where it will go.
My initial reaction is that it’s closer to Twitter than to FaceBook; i.e. it’s closer to a micro-blogging tool than social network, but we’ll see which way the site grows. In the meantime, I have a number of Pownce invitations available. If you want one, just drop me a comment.
