I just came across a pointer on Andy’s blog about a press release where a fe days ago Microsoft announced the formation of the Microsoft Business Process Alliance. This consists of the 10 top software vendors for BPM software working together on making their products more available and extending the reach of their products. The only caveat to join the group seems to be that they need to have a product based on Microsoft’s platform.
It seems to me that Microsoft are finally putting some weight behind their BPM initiative. The press release seems to indicate that the whole drive is to make BPM more accessible to SMEs by removing barriers brought about by complexity and cost associated with rolling out a BPM solution.
It should be fun to watch this space and this is directly relevant to some of the work I’m doing in the Isle of Man at the moment.
