I’ve migrated my blogroll over to this blog. I now have a random selection of 15 links on each page (as opposed to the whole blogroll which was really affecting performance on the old blog). And I also have a blogroll page which has all the links on it.
What did I use to create these sections? Basically a bit of hacking around in the original template and these plugins:
- Link Library Plugin: This was used to create the Blogroll page
- PHP Exec: Lets you execute PHP code inside a post. Basically the Link Library is hosted on a plain WordPress page
- Random Links from Link Manager: Does what it says on the tin. Added this to the Sidebar to generate 15 random links
