Mort in Sunbury

Went to watch the Shepperton
Players’
rendition of Mort at the Riverside
Art’s Center
in Sunbury. It’s a Terry
Pratchett
story adapted by Stephen Briggs and
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at how well the adaptation worked out.
I’m a big fan of Terry’s work, but I had no idea where I would start converting the
imagery in his Discworld series to a play enacted on a stage. I was mildly impressed at the great job Briggs had done; though I suspect that the part of the audience unfamilier with the Discworld mythology must have had a hard time translating references to giant turtles, Ankh-Morpork, Dibbler and the Unseen University. Still, a lot of imagery was preserved through the screen play and I must say I really enjoyed myself.
