Ugh!!’s Greymatter Honeypot

I’ve just spent the moring struggling with an installation issue with BizTalk 2004. I’ve installed the package countless times, from the EAP build, through all the JDP builds and finally now with RTM. For some reason, when trying to install the OLAP databases, it refuses to continue with an “Unspecified Error”. How is one meant to diagnose a problem that is “unspecified”? To make matters worse, we are trying to get this build done, so that the SQL support folks can figure out what permissions are needed by the BizTalk team to be able to install the package without sa access. Except that we can’t even get the installation to run with full privileges. What a day ….
